HANOVER, Ind. – Sophomore Alexis Nall (Mount Vernon, Ind.) of the Hanover women’s basketball team has been selected by the Hanover sports information department as the Female Athlete of the Month for December.
Nall averaged a team high 13.3 points per game as she was one of four Panthers to tally a double-digit point average in December. She helped lead HC to a 4-2 overall mark in the month and a 3-1 start in HCAC play.
The sophomore was arguably Hanover’s most efficient offensive play during December, shooting close to 60 percent from the field. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds per game, which ranked second on the squad.
Most of Nall’s damage came in the first four conference games of the season, where she averaged 13.5 points per outing, shooting 54.5 percent from the field. Highlighting her play was a season high, 22-point effort against Transylvania, and a 17 point, 13 rebound performance versus Bluffton. The double-double against Bluffton was her first of the season.
Overall, Nall scored in double figures in the final five outings of the month, including both games of the Wittenberg Kiwanis Holiday Classic. In tournament play, the sophomore tallied 14 points and eight rebounds against nationally ranked Ohio Northern, before going 6-for-6 from the field versus Susquehanna (Pa.) for 12 points.
With the Hanover men’s and women’s basketball teams the only HC squads in action during December, there was no interactive voting poll available on social media. Fan voting will begin again with the January nominees.
