HANOVER, Ind. - Hanover women’s soccer freshman Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) has been selected by the interactive, week-long Twitter poll as the Female Athlete of the Month for October.
Carmosino helped the Panthers to a 17-2-0 overall mark with many of the best statistics in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Her 0.42 goal-against-average and 0.833 save percentage were both tops in the league.
For her efforts, Carmosino was recently named HCAC Freshman of the Year, the fifth player in program history to be recognized under current head coach Jim Watts. She is the first to be recognized since Abby Shroyer in 2014. Amanda was named to the First Team All-HCAC to add to her accolades.
The freshman additionally earned her first HCAC Defensive Player of the Week nomination for a pair of shutouts against Transylvania and Anderson. In a matchup versus Mount St. Joseph later in the month, Carmosino stopped eight shots en route to a 2-1 victory for the Blue and Red.
The two no-no’s were part of a series of six conference shutouts in October. Overall, Carmosino had nine solo shutouts and was a part of two additional clean sheets.
