HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover College Sports Information Department has selected senior cross country runner Jacob Hedrick (Memphis, Ind.) as the Male Athlete of the Month for November.
Hedrick made program history during the final month of the season, as he became the first Hanover male runner to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships. The senior posted a season-best time of 25:46.0 in the eight-kilometer event, placing 18th overall. Hedrick then followed it up with his history-setting performacne at the national meet, where he clocked in at 25:59.4.
Throughout the campaign, Hedrick also garnered his fourth Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week Award for winning the Hanover Invitational for the second time in as many years. Hedrick also gave the Blue and Red a first at the HCAC Championships on Oct. 27, when he became the first male runner to take the top spot at the event.
His performance over the course of the season earned him the Men’s Most Valuable Runner award at the annual team awards, which were held in early December.
