Hanover Female Athlete of the Month Nominees - October

HANOVER, Ind. –The Hanover College Sports Information Department has announced the nominees for October's Female Athlete of the Month.

With the bevy of success Hanover athletic teams accumulate each year, we will be highlighting some of the top individual standouts from each month throughout the 2017-18 season.

Nominees will be decided on by the sports information staff and the accomplishments of each athlete nominated will appear in a release at the beginning of the following month's prior performances.

Family, friends and fans will have the opportunity to vote for their Athlete of the Month on our Twitter page. To make sure you do not miss your chance to vote for your favorite Hanover athlete, follow us at, @HanoverPanthers.

Voting for the month of October will be open until noon, Friday, Nov. 10, with daily reminders coming on our twitter page.

Below are the list of nominees and their accomplishments for the month of October.

ARIEL BARLOW  |  CROSS COUNTRY  |  SO  |  FRANCESVILLE, IND.

The sophomore led the women's cross country team in both races during the month of October, including the HCAC Championships, where she placed 23rd overall…Recorded a career best time in a six-kilometer event at the conference meet, 24:55.2…Ran just her second sub-21 minute 5K race during the #JennaStrong Wilmington Fall Classic, posting a time of 20:57.3…Her time at Wilmington was less than one second off her personal best in that specific distance…Finished in the top one-third of the 300 runner field at Wilmington.

CLAIRE DENNIS  |  VOLLEYBALL  |  JR  |  BLOOMINGTON, IND.

The junior helped guide the Panther volleyball team to an unblemished 11-0 record during the month of October, as the team wrapped up HCAC regular season play, going 9-0 for the third consecutive season…One of three volleyball players to be named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week during the month of October…Finished with a team-high 1.58 blocks per set, moving her to the top of the HCAC in the statistical category, where she is averaging 1.38 per set for the entire season…Tallied 3.2 points per set for HC in the month of October…Recorded 63 kills, while hitting 0.382…Added 81 digs defensively over 11 matches…Posted double-digit kill efforts twice and added five or more total blocks on seven occasions.

ALLISON GOODWIN  |  GOLF  |  SO  |  LEBANON, IND.

During the HCAC Championship, the sophomore posted her two lowest rounds of the season en route to earning all-conference accolades…One of just two Hanover women's golfers to receive all-HCAC honors in 2017…Placed seventh at the league championship, where she tied a season-low 36-hole score with a 159 (80-79)…Finished the HCAC Championship with a team best par three and par five scoring averages, finishing both categories at one-over (+1)…Added another top 20 finish in the Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational to lead the team…Fired off rounds of 83 and 82 at Wittenberg, totaling 165 strokes for the tournament…Finished the month with a 94-25 comparative record, a 0.790 winning percentage.

CAMI JONES  |  TENNIS  |  SO  |  RICHMOND, IND.

The sophomore's month of strong play was highlighted by a pair of awards from the HCAC, as she was named the conference's tournament most valuable player, and later adding all-HCAC honors…Capped the fall season with a 7-0 doubles record, with Haley Parker, during October…Added a 6-1 singles record, competing solely in the No. 2 spot…Jones and Parker never lost more than four games in a doubles match, and conceded one game or less on three occasions…Jones added two straight-set singles victories, including a 6-0, 6-2 win against Defiance…Conceded just three games in singles play during the HCAC Tournament, which Hanover won for the fourth time in five seasons…Helped lead HC to its fifth straight HCAC regular season championship, giving the squad a 40-match winning streak in conference regular season action.
