CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced it's women's all-sport trophy winner for the 2019-2020 season on Monday afternoon with the Panthers claiming the top spot.
The Hanover women are claiming their 9th all-sports trophy, including a stretch from 2011-2012 to 2016-2017 where they were winners of six straight.
The Blue and Red registered four regular-season conference championships with the women claiming the women's basketball and indoor track and field titles.
Hanover also had strong finishes in women's tennis, women's cross country, women's soccer and women's volleyball, all claiming the runner-up spot.
With 100 possible points to earn, the Panthers received 62.3 points on the women's side.
Rose-Hulman claimed second overall with 54.47 points, while Transylvania took third with 54.33 points. Franklin College finished in fourth with 48.49 points while Anderson University rounded out the top five with 39.32 points. Manchester University (32.64), Earlham College (32.15) Mount St. Joseph University (27.98), Bluffton University (26.81) and Defiance College (14.66) rounded out the standings.
There are 11 women's sports sponsored by the HCAC and HCLC. The women compete in tennis, golf, soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, softball, lacrosse, and indoor/outdoor track and field. Teams earn points for their institution by placing in each sport's championship. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, championships were unable to be held for the spring sports.
