HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover College has completed recent upgrades to the Panther Athletic Complex. The project included updates to Alumni Stadium and C. Wayne Perry Field, as well as the Zeddies Tennis Center and Kops-Bedel Stadium.
The project featured the installation of a new synthetic turf as well as the addition of a resurfaced track, bleacher renovations, new fencing, jump pits, throws areas, tennis courts resurfacing, and softball field renovations.
Construction on C. Wayne Perry Field began in early April 2020 and The Motz Group, a leading specialist in the field of synthetic turf, completed the installation of the new surface in May with the track project taking place simultaneously. The track was completed in late September by Beynon Sports, with the addition of new jump pits, javelin runways, and throws areas.
Alumni Stadium also received a facelift completed by the Lee Company, who installed new handrails as well as insulated roofing sealcoating and tuck-pointing the stadium bleacher surface and stadium brick walls.
The final stage of the project includes the installation of a new fence surrounding Alumni Stadium to be completed by Abbott's Fencing later this month.
The stadium is home to the Panther football, men's and women's lacrosse, and men's and women's track and field teams. It also hosts off-season training while serving as a destination for several sports camps.
Resurfacing of the Zeddies Tennis Center began mid-summer and Tennis Technology, a leader in the creation and upkeep of superior sports surfaces, completed the project in late August. The recent renovations provided a state-of-the-art playing surface for both our men's and women's tennis teams.
The softball program also upgraded its facility with the addition of a new playing surface. The infield renovation was completed by Turfdogs in mid-June with the addition of new dirt providing an elite level playing surface.
