Molly Jones, who spent 17 seasons as the head coach for the Hanover women’s basketball team, is currently one of the athletic department’s Associate Athletic Directors.
Overall, Jones, who spent 28 seasons a collegiate head coach, retired in 2015 as the winningest female coach in school history with a career record of 405-296, including a 271-175 mark at Hanover.
During her time as the head coach of her alam mater, where she graduated from in 1986, Jones led the Panthers to three Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships, all resulting in NCAA Division III National Tournament appearances.
Under her guidance, the Panthers won 20 or more games in four consecutive seasons (2009-2013), including a school-record 25 victories in 2010-11. She coached Hanover athletes to over 20 all-conference selections, while also garnering two HCAC most valuable players awards.
Currently, Jones holds a bevy of roles at Hanover College, including Associate Athletic Director, Chair of the Health and Fitness Department, Wellness Director and the Horner Center Coordinator.
Prior to her time at Hanover, Jones spent 11 seasons as the head coach for the Marian (Ind.) women’s basketball team, where the Knights accumulated a 134-121 record.
Molly’s husband, John Jones, took over as the head women’s basketball coach prior to the start of the 2015-16 season and is currently in his fourth year at the helm. Molly and John reside in Hanover, Ind. and have three children, Kelsey, Tyler and Coleman.
