HANOVER, Ind. – Sophomore Sam Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference special teams' player of the week announced Monday afternoon by the league office.
The sophomore helped lead the Blue and Red past Adrian 49-28 in the team's first non-conference win since the 2010 season.
In the opening period, Jackson recorded a block punt after a defensive three an out. The sophomore scooped up the ball at the Adrian 55-yard line before taking it to the house for the score.
The honor is the first of Jackson's career.
Hanover returns to action Saturday, September 21 as they travel to Tennessee to take on Maryville. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
