CARMEL, Ind. - Freshman Devonte Hardiman (Princeton, Ind.) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Hardiman played a major role in the Panthers Bell victory over Franklin as the team cruised to a perfect 7-0 HCAC record for the first time since the 2003 season. The freshman posted a game-high and career-high 12 tackles, including eight solo stops. He also set a personal best with three sacks totaling 26-yards.
The 12 tackle outburst is his first double digit performance after earning a spot on the varsity squad earlier this season.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 23 as they travel to Alliance, Ohio for the opening round of the NCAA Playoffs taking on no. 2 ranked Mount Union. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
