HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover football junior Kyle Treber (Mishawaka, Ind.) was selected as a First Team All-North Region honoree by D3football.com Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Treber, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, garners his first All-Region honor. He becomes the third linebacker in Panther history to receive the honor and only the fourth to receive First Team recognition with the most recent dating back to the 2011 season (Rory Mannering, Safety).
Treber, a First Team All-HCAC pick, ranked fourth in the league with 77 tackles, and 7.7 tackles per game average was fifth best in the conference. The junior also ranked among the top ten in solo tackles (31) coming in at number six and assisted tackles (19) ranking ninth overall.
He was also a part of record-breaking defense that set league records in passing yards allowed (116.3) and points per game among conference play (7.7).
Overall the Panthers posted a 9-2 record with a perfect 7-0 mark in league action for the first time since the 2003 season.
