HANOVER, Ind. – On the day of its 20th anniversary, D3hoops.com announced its first regular season Top 25 poll of 2017-18, with the Hanover men's basketball team coming in at No. 7.
The Panthers are earning their 70th national ranking from D3hoops since the poll's inception during the 1999-2000 season. The Blue and Red had appeared in the ranking each of the poll's first seven years before returning in 2010-11 and each of the last two seasons.
Hanover, who is off to a 3-1 start this season, is garnering top 25 recognition from D3hoops for the sixth consecutive poll. The Panthers entered the poll in Week 11 of last season and climbed all the way up to No. 7 in the postseason rankings. The team also earned its second highest ranking in program history when D3hoops tabbed them No. 4 in the 2017-18 preseason poll.
Also of note for HC is Ohio Wesleyan, who they will face at 7:30 p.m., inside Collier Arena, this Wednesday, Nov. 29. The Battling Bishops are ranked 16th after a 4-0 start to the season. Wooster (Ohio), who handed the Panthers their only loss this season, moved into the top 25 this week at No. 25. Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference institution, Mount St. Joseph, is also receiving votes for the second consecutive poll.
