HANOVER, Ind. – College Factual has released its top men's basketball programs in terms of academic and on-court success, with Hanover College ranking among the top 15 percent nationally.
The Panthers, who have appeared in back-to-back national tournaments, are ranked 15th across NCAA Division III. Hanover is also 145th out of 1,010 institutions nationally, regardless of division, that were analyzed by College Factual.
College Factual states, "This ranking of best schools for student-athletes takes into account both the athletic competitiveness of the specific team and the academic progress of the student-athletes on the team."
Other notable rankings include the Panthers placing seventh in the state of Indiana and inside the top 25 for the entire Great Lakes region. The Blue and Red are ranked higher than notable Indiana Division I schools, Ball State, IUPUI and Indiana State, as well as national Division I institutions that have had recent success in March Madness, Wichita State (Kan.), Texas Tech and University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).
Hanover has produced consecutive 20-win seasons heading into the 2018-19 campaign, which has the team off to a 4-2 start. The Panthers have also had success in the classroom, with recently-graduated Wes McKinney earning a pair of academic all-American honors.
