Men's Basketball Looks to Stay Perfect Inside Collier Arena

HANOVER, Ind. – The Men's Basketball team looks to remain perfect at home as they welcome Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes Transylvania on Wednesday, January 15 and Earlham on Saturday, January 18.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Panthers are very successful inside Collier Arena currently holding a 15-game win streak dating back to the 2018-19 season when they fell to non-conference opponent Wooster. This season, the Blue and Red have tackled conference leader Franklin, Manchester, Bluffton and Boyce. When in the confines of Collier Arena, Hanover is shooting 51.1 percent from the floor while averaging 78.3 points per contest holding opponents to just 38.6 percent from the floor and 51 points per game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Junior Isaac Hibbard (New Albany, Ind.) continues to turn heads averaging a team-best 12.9 ppg while dishing out 4.5 assists per contest. Senior, teammate, Kevin Williams (Edinburgh, Ind.) has also found success from the floor ranking second among the HCAC in field goal percentage at 65 percent, averaging 10.1 ppg and 4.9 rebounds per contest. As a team, the Blue and Red are shooting 46.2 percent from the floor with a plus 6.1 rebound margin.

SCOUTING TRANSYLVANIA: The Panthers currently hold a four-game win streak over the Pioneers including a victory in the HCAC Championship a season ago where Transy dropped a tough battle 76-73 inside Collier Arena. The last victory for the Pioneers on the campus of Hanover College dates back to the 2015-16 season with an 84-78 triumph over the Blue and Red. The Pioneers enter the week averaging 77.8 points per game led by Gabe Schmitt at 16.8 ppg. Teammate, Lucas Gentry ranks second at 12.8 ppg while Michael Jefferson comes in at 12.4 ppg.

LOOKING AHEAD TO EARLHAM: Entering the weekend the Quakers find themselves on the wrong side of a 14-game win streak against the Panthers with their last win coming during the 2011-12 season when they defeated Hanover inside Collier Arena, 57-53. The Quakers are currently 5-8 overall, 1-5 HCAC with a matchup against Bluffton on Wednesday. As a team, Earlham is averaging 71.0 ppg led by Chainey Zolman at 15.3 ppg and 4.5 rebounds per contest.
