HANOVER, Ind. – In its final home contest of the regular season, the Hanover men's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Mount St. Joseph Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers (12-4-0, 7-1-0 HCAC) had three different players score, with senior Dominic Isdadore (Cincinnati, Ohio) adding to his team high goal total in the first half. Isadore improved to a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks, scoring his 10th goal of the season in the 18th minute.
After taking the 1-0 lead into the intermission, the Blue and Red returned out of the break with goals in the 72nd and 76th minutes. Sophomore Chris Roe (Louisville, Ky.) scored his second goal of the fall with a shot off a corner kick. Freshman Renato Yostsui (Sao Jose Do Rio Preto, Brazil) sent the corner kick into the box, registering his second assist in four games.
Adding Hanover's third goal was senior Will Bridgeman (Columbus, Ind.). Bridgeman sent a missile from approximately 35 yards out, as his attempt blasted off the left post and across the goal line.
Freshman Will Bedel (Walton, Ky.) made three saves, recording his fifth solo shutout of the season. Bedel has been a part of all seven of HC's clean sheets this season.
The Panthers posted double-digit shot attempts in each half, enjoying a 27-9 advantage over the full 90 minutes. The 27 attempts tied for the second most by HC this season. Hanover has now posted over 15 shots in each of the past four contests.
Isadore led the way for the Blue and Red Wednesday, recording five shot attempts. Eight other Panthers logged multiple shots in the match, including Bridgeman and freshman Nicholas Ash (Louisville, Ky.) who combined for four of HC's 12 attempts on goal.
Hanover will look to secure at least a share of the HCAC regular season title for the first time in program history, when they conclude conference play at Rose-Hulman Saturday, Oct. 28. The Panthers and Engineers are slated for a 3:30 p.m. start.
