HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers travel to Franklin College Wednesday before welcoming Earlham on Saturday afternoon for Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action.
REVIEW: The Blue and Red enter the contest 3-5-1 overall, 0-1 HCAC after dropping their Conference opener at Manchester, 1-0. The Spartans netted the game-winner in the 80th minute en route to the win. Hanover was led in the contest by junior Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) with a game-high three shots. As a team, the Panthers fired off nine shots, two of which were on frame.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Hanover enters the week with 113 total shots, 55 of which were on frame for a .487 on goal percentage. Leading the attack for the Panthers is sophomore Luke Eppler (Evansville, Ind.) with five goals and 10 points. The sophomore has recorded 22 shots with 16 on frame. Hughes has dished out a team-leading four assists with six points. In goal, senior Chris Brashear (Hebron, Ky.) has appeared in four games with a 1-1 overall record through 370 minutes of action. The senior has tallied four saves for a .500 save percentage.
SCOUTING FRANKLIN: The Grizzlies enter the contest 3-9 overall, 0-1 HCAC after falling to Defiance 2-1. In the contest with the Yellow Jackets, Andrew Vidal registered a team-high three shots one of which was on frame. The team finished with 14 shots, one goal and an assist. The team has taken 196 shots with 14 goals scored. Franklin averages 10.9 shots per game with a shot percentage of .071. The team is led this season by Jordan Thomas with seven goals and 14 points. The junior has tallied three game-winners.
SCOUTING EARLHAM: The Quakers enter the weekend matchup 1-7-2 overall, 0-1 HCAC after falling to Mt. St. Joseph 3-1. Earlham enters the contest with 68 shots and six goals scored. The team has posted a .353 shot on goal percentage, averaging 6.8 shots per game. Leading the Quakers this season is Drew FitzGibbon with three goals and six points.
