INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Junior Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
Hughes helped guide the Blue and Red to a 2-0 overall week as the Panthers defeated Rose-Hulman 2-1 and Bluffton 7-1. With the sweep, Hanover moved into a tie for second place among the HCAC.
The junior finished the week with a team-high four goals, including an acrobatic game-winner against Rose-Hulman in the 87th minute. Hughes scored both of Hanover's goals in the contest to hand the Fightin' Engineers their first conference loss.
