Men's Soccer to open postseason play against Rochester (N.Y.)



INDIANAPOLIS – The 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer National Tournament field was announced Monday afternoon as the Hanover men's soccer team drew University of Rochester (N.Y.) in the opening round.

The Panthers (13-5-1), who earned honors as both the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season champions and conference tournament champions, will be making their second national playoff appearance under Head Coach Matt Wilkerson (1st appearance - 2016).

Hanover and Rochester (N.Y.) are slated to play at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Mavec Field in Gambier, Ohio as both teams travel to Kenyon College who will host both first and second round games.

The winner between the Panthers and the Yellowjackets will face the winner of #5 ranked Kenyon and #19 ranked Penn State – Behrend on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Rochester (N.Y.) (11-5-1) out of the University Athletic Association is making their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance highlighted most recently by a trip to the semifinal last year. The Yellowjackets fell a year ago to Tufts, the eventual National Champions.

The Panthers and the Yellowjackets do not have any common opponents this fall. Rochester (N.Y.) enters Saturday unbeaten in their final five games of the year while Hanover enters riding a 10-game winning streak.
