Panthers head north to Franklin this weekend

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's swim team will look to add another win to its resume as they travel to Franklin, Ind. to face a trio of schools.

The Panthers will matchup against Franklin, Thomas More (Ky.) and Transylvania (Ky.) at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at Franklin Community High School.

ANDERSON RECAP – Junior Alex Maldeney (Fort Wayne, Ind.) led the way for the Blue and Red in their last meet against Anderson, a 120-100 team victory. Maldeney took home three first place finishes in the four races he competed in. Maldeney finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.19 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.29.

Maldeney then teamed up with freshman Will Morgan (Lapel, Ind.), freshman Jacob Moll (Tipton, Ind.) and freshman Louis Holbrook (Greenfield, Ind.) in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the group finished with a time of 1:32.42.

Morgan also landed a first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.99 and two second place finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles.

Freshman Davis Guthier (Fort Thomas, Ky.) also landed a pair of first place finishes in the 1000- and the 500-yard freestyles.

Moll tallied two first place finishes in two backstroke events, the 100- and 200- yard swims. The freshman had a time of personal best in the 200- yard backstroke where he landed a time of 2:09.73. Moll finished with a time of 58.72 in the 100 yard backstroke.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITORS – Thomas More comes into the meet having four wins and four losses and a third place finish in the Kentucky Invitational. Transylvania comes into the meet having two losses and one third place finish. There were no records of Franklin's results for the 18-19 season.
