CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Hanover men's swimming and diving team opened the 2019-20 season on Saturday as they competed as part of the Indiana Division III Invitational hosted by Wabash College.
The Blue and Red finished fourth overall in the five-team field, while DePauw won the team title.
In the 200-yard medley relay the team of James Moll, Kyle Pfaffenberger, Louis Holbrook, and Andrew Lee teamed up to finish fourth with a time of 1:46.81.
Moll also found some success in the 100-yard backstroke as he finished ninth in the 16-competitor field, in a time of 1:00.41.
In the 100-yard IM, Will Morgan opened the season strong as he claimed a top five finish with a time of 59.26, while also claiming an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.19. Pfaffenberger also registered a strong performance in the event finishing ninth overall with a time of 2:29.21.
In the 200-yard IM, Alex Dafforn claimed a top ten finish in a time of 2:13.74.
The Panthers rounded out the afternoon with the 400-yard free relay as the team of Holbrook, Lee, Dafforn and Morgan combined for a 10th place finish and a time of 3:35.65.
The Blue and Red return to the pool on Saturday, November 9 as they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with Franklin.
