HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's swim team will travel south to Lexington, Ky. where they will be competing alongside Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Transylvania, as well as regional opponents Milligan College and Wittenberg University.
INVITATIONAL DETAILS: The 2019 Transylvania Invitational this weekend will be held at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky, Saturday and Sunday, December 7-8. Saturday's preliminary session begins at 11:30 AM followed by the final session at 5:15 PM. Sunday's Day Two action begins at 10:00 AM with the finals beginning at 5:00 PM.
RECORD SETTING PERFORMANCE: The Panthers enter the weekend after posting a strong performance at the Lindsey Wilson Dual Meet where sophomore Louis Holbrook (New Palestine, Ind.) pacing the field. The sophomore set the school record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.33, while the 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Alex Dafforn (Indianapolis, Ind.), Holbrook, and senior Alex Maldeney (Fort Wayne, Ind.) finished just three seconds shy of the school record with a time of 1:44.79 claiming second overall. Sophomore James Moll (Tipton, Ind.) also found success in the 100-yard breaststroke where he set a personal best time of 58.89, beating his previous time by nearly two seconds.
MIDWAY POINT: The two-day invitational serves as the midway point of the season for the Panthers before making their annual winter trip. This year's trip will take place in Clermont, Fla. from Dec. 28 – Jan. 4.
