Men's Swimming Falls in Competitive Battle with Anderson

HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover men's swim team dropped a competitive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference meet on Saturday afternoon at the Southwestern Jr./ Sr. High School, falling to Anderson 97-96.

Leading the way in the meet was senior Alex Maldeney (Fort Wayne, Ind.) earning first place finishes in the 50-yard free in a time of 22.19 and the 100-yard free crossing the finish line with a time of 49.22.

The men also found success in the 200-yard free relay winning the event in a time of 1:31.96. The team was compiled of Sophomore James Moll (Tipton, Ind.), sophomore Louis Holbrook (New Palestine, Ind.), sophomore Will Morgan (Lapel, Ind.), and Maldeney. 

Sophomore Davis Guthier (Fort Thomas, Ky.) posted an impressive day taking first in the 1,000-yard free in a time of 11:30.83, while teammate Holbrook won the 200-yard free crossing the finish line in a time of 1:56.07. 

Not only did Moll help propel the Panthers to first in the 200-yard free relay but he also took first in the 500-yard free with an event time of 5:29.88. 

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, January 18 when they travel to Manchester. The meet is scheduled for 1 PM.
