Men's Swimming & Diving Dominates Manchester in HCAC Dual

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Hanover College men's swimming and diving team defeated Manchester in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference dual Saturday afternoon, 141-27.

The men opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle as sophomore Will Morgan (Lapel, Ind.) won the event with a time of 2:02.62. The success continued for the Blue and Red as they took first and second respectively in the 100-yard backstroke. Sophomore James Moll (Tipton, Ind.) won the event in a time of 59.96, while teammate freshman Grant Willis (Booneville, Ind.) took second, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:08.47.

The 100-yard breaststroke saw Panther sophomore Nathan Cooper (Amelia, Ohio) take first with a time of 1:12.12, while teammates sophomore Louis Holbrook (New Palestine, Ind.) and freshman Keegan Marx 9Evansville, Ind.) dominated the 50-yard butterfly. Holbrook claimed the top spot in a time of 26.32 followed by Marx in a time of 29.29.

The excitement continued for Hanover as senior Alex Maldeney (Fort Wayne, Ind.) won the 50-yard freestyle crossing the finish line with a time of 22.17. He also took first in the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 27.21.

The Panthers swept the 50-yard breaststroke claiming the top three spots paced by sophomore Kyle Pfaffenberger 9Seymour, Ind.) in first place with a time of 31.75, followed by teammates Cooper in a time of 32.29 and freshman Alex Dafforn (Indianapolis, Ind.) in third with a time of 34.42.

Holbrook also found success in the 500-yard freestyle, reaching the wall in a time of 5:37.00. Rounding out the day for the Blue and Red were sophomore Davis Guthier (Fort Thomas, Ky.)  in the 100-yard butterfly taking first with a time of 1:01.35, while Dafforn took first in the 400-yard IM in a time of 4:55.46.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, January 24 as they play host to Transylvania. First event is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
