HANOVER, Ind. - The Panther men's swimming and diving team dominated Transylvania in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action defeating the Pioneers 105-77.
Hanover was led in the meet by senior Alex Maldeney (Fort Wayne, Ind.) with a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.64. He also was joined by teammates sophomore James Moll (Tipton, Ind.), sophomore Will Morgan (Lapel, Ind.), and freshman Keegan Marx (Evansville, Ind.) for the top spot in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.33.
Also claiming a first place finish was freshman Andrew Lee (Greenwood, Ind.) in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:35.07, while sophomore Louis Holbrook (New Palestine, Ind.) captured the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.30. Sophomore Davis Guthier (Fort Thomas, Ky.) carried the momentum into the 500-yard freestlye winning the event in 5:21.77.
Guthier also took second in the 200-yard freestyle touching the wall with a time of 1:58.17.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Marx finished second in a time of 23.33, while teammate Holbrook took third with a mark of 23.97.
Morgan also found success in the 100-yard freestyle taking second in a time of 51.96. In the 100-yard backstroke, Moll claimed second followed by freshman Alex Dafforn (Indianapolis, Ind.) in third.
The Blue and Red return to action on Saturday, February 1 when they welcome Rose-Hulman to Southwestern High School. The dual is set to begin at 1:00 P.M.
