TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Hanover men's swimming team registered a fifth place finsih as part of the three-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The Panther finished the event with 183 points.
Winning the team crown was Franklin with 832.5 points, while Transylvania took second with 405 points and Anderson third with 356.5 points.
On the final day of competition sophomore Davis Guthier (Fort Thomas, Ky.) and sophomore James Moll (Tipton, Ind.) paced the field for Hanover as they claimed eighth place finishes in their respective events.
Guither claimed an eighth place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:53.84 after entering the event seeded at 18:48.56.
In the 200-yard back, James Moll also garnered an eighth place mark touching the wall in 2:03.14 improving on his prelim time by nearly one second.
Sophomore Kyle Pfaffenberger (Seymour, Ind.) placed ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke swimming the event in a time of 2:19.95.
Sophomoe Louis Holbrook (New Palestine, Ind.) continued to have success as he captured 11th in the 100-yard freestlye in a time of 49.24.
Rounding out the Championship for the Panthers was the 400-yard free relay of Guthier, freshman Alex Dafforn (Indianapolis, Ind.), freshman Andrew Lee (Greenwood, Ind.), and freshman Grant Willis (Booneville, Ind.) with an 11th place mark in a time of 3:26.38.
The HCAC Championships concluded the 2020 season for the Panthers.
