Men's Track & Field Travels to DePauw for Tiger Small College Invite

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's track and field team will look to have continued success as part of the Tiger Small College Invitational hosted by DePauw University on Friday, February 7.

POWELL DOMINATION: Freshman Erikmycal Powell (Indianapolis, Ind.) turned heads early into his track and field career with a school record setting leap in the long jump. The freshman tallied a leap of 6.99 meters, breaking the previous record of 6.73 meters. For his efforts, Powell was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week. He currently ranks among the top 25 in Division III, while holding the best leap among HCAC competitors.

JOE BANKS REVIEW: Several Panthers registered strong performances last weekend as part of the Joe Banks Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University. Sophomore Riley Cook (Corydon, Ind.) notched a second-place finish in the high jump clearing a height of 1.88 meters, while teammate senior Kyler Perez (Garrett, Ind.) took third in the weight throw with a toss of 14.91 meters. Senior Ethan Monnin (Minster, Ohio) found success in the pole vault with a height of 4.25 meters.

On the track, sophomore Bryce Gatewood (Noblesville, Ind.), freshman Aaron Rodgers (Noblesville, Ind.), freshman Torion'Ja Forrest (Peru, Ind.), and sophomore Justin Johnson (Camby, Ind.) teamed up for a third-place mark in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:37.38.
