WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Junior Jacob Hedrick (Memphis, Ind.) recorded his second top 10 finish of the season and led the Hanover men's cross country team to an eighth place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships.
Hanover finished the Men's Little State race with a team score of 190. Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Rose-Hulman took home the team title with three of the top six finishers and a team score of 51.
Hedrick ran a time of 27:17.9 to place eighth overall and finish as the first Panther across the finish line for the second consecutive meet.
Senior Joe Rector (Aurora, Ind.) wasn't far behind. The team's lone senior finished three spots behind in 11th place with a time of 27:28.9.
Freshman Andy Vilardo (Bloomington, Ind.) ran a time of 28:47.2 in his first 8k race, good for 33rd overall, while Freshman Andrew Clegg (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Hananiah Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.) round out the top five for the Panthers. Clegg finished in 64th place with a time of 30:27.5, and Davis in 84th place in 31:57.0.
Wabash junior Dominic Patacsil earned the individual overall title with a time of 25:39.0, just over a full minute faster than the second place finisher.
Hanover will take a week off from competition and then return to action Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Greater Louisville Classic. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Louisville, Ky.
