Greater Louisville Classic on tap for men's cross country

HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover men's cross country team will look to maintain its stride after an off week as they compete in the Greater Louisville Classic at noon, this Saturday, Sept. 30.

In their previous meet, on September 15, at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships, junior Jacob Hedrick (Memphis, Ind.) helped the Panthers to an eighth-place finish with his time of 27:17.9. Hedrick's time placed him eighth overall in the eight-kilometer event.

Senior Joe Rector (Aurora, Ind.) finished close behind in 11th place with a time of 27:28.9. Freshman Andy Vilardo (Bloomington, Ind.) debuted in 8K action with a time of 28:47.2, good enough for 33rd overall.

Rounding out the top five for Hanover with times of 30:27.5 and 31:57.0 respectively, were freshman Andrew Clegg (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Hananiah Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.).

At last year's race in Louisville, Hedrick led the Panthers with a 63rd overall finish, coming across the line with a time of 26:22.92. Sophomores Hayden Veach (Shelbyville, Ind.) finished second on the team with a time of 27:22.50, while Davis followed at 27:34.63.
