WESTERVILLE, Oh. – The Hanover men's cross country team placed fourth today out of seven schools competing in the 2018 Otterbein Invitational.
Junior Hayden Veach (Shelbyville, Ind.) led the way for the Panthers, placing 14th overall. His time of 27:45.3 for the eight kilometer course was good for all-meet honors by placing in the top 25.
Just behind Veach was sophomore Andrew Clegg (Indianapolis, Ind.) who turned in a personal best performance of 28:55.8 to place 27th.
Running his first collegiate 8-k distance, freshman Cooper Hanson (Greenfield, Ind.) put in a solid performance by placing 34th in the meet with a time of 29:32.7.
Sophomore Andy Vilardo (Bloomington, Ind.) was 42nd with a time of 30:31.0 while freshman Scott Jackson (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) finished off the scoring for the red and blue with a time of 30:52.0, placing 47th.
The host Otterbein Cardinals took the top three spots in the event and won the meet with a score of 20 points.
The Panthers will be back in action two weeks from now as they travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Greater Louisville Classic.
