Harriers back to full strength as they travel to Greater Louisville Classic

Hanover, Ind. – The Hanover College men's cross country team is back to full strength this week as they travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The Panthers were shorthanded in their last meet at the Otterbein Invitational as senior Jacob Hedrick (Memphis, Ind.) missed the meet with an illness. Hedrick, who was voted HCAC runner of the week earlier this month, finished second overall at the Greater Louisville Classic a year ago and will look to duplicate that effort when he returns to action this weekend.

Leading the red and blue at Otterbein was junior Hayden Veach (Shelbyville, Ind.) who placed 14th overall in a time of 27:45.3. He was followed closely by teammates Andrew Clegg (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Cooper Hanson (Greenfield, Ind.) in 28:55.8 and 29:32.7 respectively.

Sophomore Andy Vilardo (Bloomington, Ind.) was fourth on the team in a time of 30:31.0.

The Panthers will also welcome back senior Matt Young (Carmel, Ind.) who missed the previous meet with injury. Young placed 17th overall at the Hanover Invitational earlier this year with a time of 24:47.9 for the four-mile course.

Hanover will compete in the men's silver race starting at noon. The event will take place at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
