HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's cross country team enters the weekend with high hopes after last year's success as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship meet.

The race will take place on Sunday, November 3 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Senior Hayden Veach (Shelbyville, Ind.) will look to post a strong performance again this year after registering a top ten finish a year ago. The senior used a last stitch effort late in the race to pick off several competitors to claim an eighth-place finish and earn all-HCAC honors.

Junior Andrew Clegg (Indianapolis, Ind.) has tallied a strong 2019 campaign after finishing second overall at the Hanover Invitational and carrying the momentum into the rest of the season. The junior finished 30th overall as part of last year's HCAC Championship meet.

Junior Andy Vilardo (Bloomington, Ind.) tallied a 28th place finish as part of the 2018 Championships and will look to build on the experience. Vilardo continues to improve this season, running his fastest time as part of the Inter-Regional Rumble two weeks ago.

The Blue and Red will likely be joined by underclassman freshman Michael Taylor (Anderson, Ind.) and sophomore Cooper Hanson (Greenfield, Ind.) with the duo sticking strong performances in their last time out.

Hanover was picked to finish third in the HCAC preseason poll with 64 points, while Rose-Hulman claimed the top spot with 80 points and eight first place votes.

The race, hosted by Rose-Hulman, will be held at LaVern Gibson Corss Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. and is set to begin at noon.
