HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover College men's cross country team completed their first virtual race of the 2020 season this past weekend, featuring Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference institutions, finishing third overall.
The race allowed individual programs to record times on their respective campuses and provide the final times which were compiled to determine the final results.
Winning the virtual event was Rose-Hulman with 48 points, followed by Franklin in second with 84 points and Hanover in third with 86 points.
The Panthers were led by senior Andy Vilardo (Bloomington, Ind. / Bloomington North) with a second place mark in the 82-runner field in a time of 9:46.0. Junior Cooper Hanson (Greenfield, Ind. / Greenfield Central) also claimed a top 10 finish crossing the finish line in sixth place overall with a time of 9:52.0.
Finishing among the top 30 were freshman Ethan Weston (Louisville, Ky. / DeSales) with a 16th place mark in a time of 10:17.0 followed by sophomore Robert Hoegeman (Monroe, Ohio / Monroe) with a 30th place finish in a time of 10:35.0.
Rounding out the field for the Panthers was freshman Lincoln Randle (Indianapolis, Ind. / Perry Meridian) finishing 36th overall, sophomore Michael Taylor (Anderson, Ind. / Anderson Preparatory) taking 48th overall, and freshman Colin Greiner (Chicago, Ill. / Jones College Prep) with a 51st finish.
The next virtual race is slated for the weekend of Sept. 25-27.
