HANOVER, Ind. – The women's basketball preview series continues with an in-depth look at the returning guards.

Head Coach John Jones returns depth at the guard position, welcoming back six upperclassmen spearheaded by seniors Brooke Todd (Vevay, Ind.), Kristin Mills (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Katie Hartman (Madison, Ind.) who appeared in all 27 games a season ago.

In her junior campaign, Todd bolstered what could be deemed her best offensive season to date establishing career-best in points per game (5.5), shooting percentage (41.1) and total rebounds (42). She hit double digit scoring on two separate occasions while shooting 70 percent or better from the floor on multiple outings. Her most impressive stat line is the seniors assist to turnover ratio with a career low 1.6 per contest.

Senior Krisitin Mills saw a significant role increase for the Blue and Red moving her way into a starting role this season as she appeared in all 27 games averaging 14 minutes per contest. Mills tallied career-best in points per game (5.2), free throw percentage (84.8), assists per contest (1.5), and overall steals (26). The senior continues to be a consistent offensive threat for the Panthers.

Hartman also improved her efficiency averaging 8.8 points per game while shooting an impressive 93.3 percent from the charity stripe. The senior guard did her damage on the boards, finished the 2018-19 season averaging 3.5 rebounds per contest, with an overall total of 258.

Senior Amanda Butler (Bloomfield, Ind.) provided a spark off the bench for the Panthers appearing in 12 games averaging 3.5 minutes per outing. Notably, Butler had the best performance of her career as she posted a perfect shooting percentage on two separate occasions.

Sophomores Lexi Riggles (Danville, Ky.) and Lanette Blume (St. Anthony, Ind.) both played in 13 games as a freshman and will help provide depth in the Panther lineup this season. The freshman trio of Julia Welsh (Frankfort, Ky.), Kayla Summerville (Fairfield, Ohio) and Kiera McCloskey (Powell, Ohio) will all look to learn from the experience the Panthers have to offer.

The Blue and Red open the 2019-20 season in Holland, Mich. with the Hope Tipp off Classic on Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16.
