Chris Hitchcock is entering the fourth year of his second stint with the Hanover women’s basketball program in 2018-19.
Hitchcock rejoined the staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2015-16 season. His first stint with Hanover came as an assistant coach from 1995-2001, including two years as a student assistant.
The 1997 Hanover College graduate followed his first appearance helping the Panthers by earning the head coaching position at Benedictine University, where he posted a 46-35 overall record. Benedictine also made one NCAA National Tournament appearance in his three seasons at the helm.
Hitchcock followed his stay at Benedictine as the head coach at Hendrix College from 2004-2009. Over the five-year span, the Warriors logged a 77-53 record.
From 2009-2015, Hitchcock worked as a teacher and head coach for the girl’s basketball team at Bloomfield High School. During his tenure at Bloomfield, Hitchcock posted a 64-64 record and was named Teacher of the Year twice.
Along with his current role with the Hanover women’s basketball program, Hitchcock is a teacher at nearby Southwestern Middle School.
Hitchcock earned his Bachelor’s of Art degree in English and Education in 1997. He and his wife Theresa have one son, Alex.
