Women’s golf to play in Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational this weekend

HANOVER, Ind. – With the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship right around the corner, the Hanover women's golf team will play one final tune-up Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9 at the Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational.

The tournament, which was a late addition to the schedule, will be played at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio.

The Panthers won their second tournament of the fall last week at the Franklin Lady Grizzly Fall Invitational. With a team score of 342 in the one-day event, Hanover finished 32 strokes ahead of Franklin.

Sophomore Maddie Cody (Brownsburg, Ind.) took home medalist honors for the second time of the fall. Cody shot an 80 to win by two strokes.

Three of Cody's teammates also finished in the top five, including junior Sam Pease (Cincinnati, Ohio)in second (82), sophomore Allison Goodwin (Lebanon, Ind.) tied for third (83) and senior Scarlett Hartlage (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) in fifth with an 88.

Following this weekend's event, the Panthers will complete their fall season with the HCAC Championship at Keen Run Golf Course in Nicholasville, Ky.
