BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Hanover women's golf team registered a strong performance on Sunday afternoon in a very tough two-day, 36-hole, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship hosted at Bluffton Golf Club.
The Panthers finished the weekend shooting 708 (357-351) on the par 72, 5,817-yard course. Sunday's score of 351 was the second best by any team in the Championship behind Rose-Hulman.
Hanover finished tied for 4th place in the team battle with area rival Franklin.
Pacing the field for the Panthers was senior Allison Goodwin (Lebanon, Ind.) with a two-day total of 174 (86-88). Goodwin carded par on four holes with three coming on the back nine. The senior improved her performance after making the turn shooting a Sunday, nine hole best of 43.
Sophomore Hannah Julow (Evansville, Ind.) turned in a Championship total of 175 (88-87), while teammate sophomore Kennedy Easton (Borden, Ind.) shot a two-day total of 179 (91-88). The Sunday conditions played favorable for Easton as she turned in a solid back nine score of 43 strokes.
Teammate, junior Dayna Dale (Andrews, Ind.) started the day out strong paring three holes on the front nine before carding two on the back to turn in a weekend total of 182 (92-90).
Senior Abbey Woodard (Crawfordsville, Ind.) rounded out the field for the Panthers as she registered a two-day total of 184 (96-88). The senior started the day out strong as she carded a front nine best round of 43.
