HANOVER, Ind. - With the 2019 Hanover women's lacrosse season set to begin in just over two weeks, we begin the annual position preview series by looking into the Panther attackers.

The group is paced by senior Rachel Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.), who is now the active leader in goals, assists, and total points for the Blue and Red following the graduation of Mallory Fogus. Over her three years at Hanover, Davis has 55 goals and 51 assists, totaling 106 points.

Her junior campaign was a career-best in many facets, as she posted her most goals (22), assists (38), and points (60), while her shooting and shot-on-goal percentages (.344, .719) were also her best marks. Davis' assist total saw a particular increase, as it more than tripled from her sophomore total of 12 helpers. Specifically highlighting her campaign were two performances: Davis notched five scores and three dimes on April 22 at Thiel (Pa.), and on April 28 amassed a program-record eight assists against St. Vincent (Pa.).

Joining her fellow fourth-year player is senior Kori Lowes (Clarkston, Mich.), who has made 34 appearances in her collegiate career, including five of her nine starts during the 2018 campaign. In her lone shot last season, Lowes registered her third goal as a Panther, helping Hanover to a 24-1 win over Waynesburg.

Juniors Emma Boomershine (Louisville, Ky.) and Laurel Atchison (Florence, Ky.) have each seen improvements from year one to year two and will look to further build their game headed into their third seasons.

For Boomershine's part, she has started 33 of 35 games she has appeared in, including 17 of 18 during the 2018 campaign. After scoring 22 goals and assisting on nine more for 31 points her freshman year, she upped her scores to 27 while dishing out seven dimes for a total of 34 points. Additionally, her percentages increased to .443 in shots and .770 in the shot on goal column. Perhaps her best outing last year came on April 25 at Thomas More (Ky.) when she made all five of her shots and added an assist for six total points.

As for Atchison, she went from playing seven games her premier campaign to participating in all 18 outings last season, including 16 starts. On the year, Atchison accounted for five scores and eight helpers, totaling 13 points. Against Thiel on April 22, Atchison aided on three goals, becoming one of three players on the afternoon to do so.

Joining the veterans are freshmen Dianet Sanchez-Vega (Louisville, Ky.) and Eme Edman (Niles, Mich.), who will look to add to a group that contributed 67 goals and 124 points for HC during last year.

Hanover will open the 2019 campaign at home Friday, Feb. 22, with a 4 p.m. contest against Asbury (Ky.).
