In the team's most recent outing against Capital (Ohio), the match featured strong defensive efforts by both schools and was hotly contested throughout. It was not until double overtime that either team registered a goal. Just over a minute into the second overtime period, senior Abby Shroyer (Zionsville, Ind.) registered her first goal of the season to give Hanover the win to improve to 6-2 on the season.

For her effort, Shroyer was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Shroyer led a defensive effort that allowed only 10 total shots, with only six on goal, in 101:05 of action. Her game-winning goal marks her third career score and her second career game-winner.

On the season, sophomore Brandi Brock (Cincinnati, Ohio) leads the Panthers with five points. Brock and sophomore Maisyn Garland (Rochester, Ill.) share the team lead in goals with two each, while junior Cassidy Evanson (Carmel, Ind.) and freshman Natalie Fausz (Alexandria, Ky.) have two assists apiece to tie for the team lead.

Sophomore goalkeeper Emma Debolt (West Chester, Ohio) has posted a .811 save percentage, good for third in the conference. Her goals against average of 0.98 also ranks third in the HCAC.

The Panthers' opponent, Manchester University, comes in at 0-8 on the season. Isabella Zoog leads the Spartans with two goals on the season, and Courtney Hersick has a team-high one assist..

Hanover has not dropped a regular season match to Manchester in over a decade. The Panthers have won 10 straight overall against the Spartans. The last time the Blue and Red did not record a win was Oct. 13, 2007 when the match ended in a 3-3, double overtime draw.
