HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover women's soccer team will look to continue its hot start as they travel to face Capital (Ohio) at 2 p.m., this Saturday, September 23.

In the Panthers' most recent match against Sewanee (Tenn.), the contest remained scoreless through the intermission. Hanover opened up scoring quickly in the second half, with sophomore Brandi Brock (Cincinnati, Ohio) recording her first goal of the season at 48:43.

The Panthers increased their lead at 64:48 with a goal from sophomore Kayla Nowlin (Harrison, Ohio), who recorded the first goal of her career. Brock added onto the lead and her season total at 74:06, widening the gap to 3-0.

Although Sewanee quickly responded to Brock's second score, they couldn't dig themselves out of the hole, falling to HC, 3-1.

Brandi Brock took a quick jump in Hanover's season statistics, as she now leads the team with 5 points. Brock and sophomore Maisyn Garland (Rochester, Ill.) share the team lead in goals with two apiece.

Junior Cassidy Evanson (Carmel, Ind.) and freshman Natalie Fausz (Alexandria, Ky.) co-lead the squad with two assists.

The Panthers' opponent, Capital University, has a 2-3-1 record on the season. In their last match versus Wittenberg (Ohio), the contest was competitive throughout, but ended in a 1-1 tie in double overtime.

The last time Hanover and Capital faced off, the Panthers won 4-2 on the strength of three unanswered goals to close out the first half.
