ANDERSON, Ind. – The No. 15 Hanover women's soccer team extended its current winning streak to 14 matches Saturday afternoon, defeating Anderson on the road, 3-0.

The Panthers, who are currently riding their longest win streak in program history, improved to 14-1-0 overall. The win also moved HC to 7-0-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, as the team is one of two remaining unbeatens in league play.

The Blue and Red got the scoring started early, as offensive pressure in the opening minutes, three attempts over the first 9:17, resulted in a 1-0 lead. Junior Abby Howes (Terre Haute, Ind.) picked up just her second goal of the season in the 10th minute.

With less than 10 minutes remaining before halftime, freshman Anna Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio) added to her team-high season goal total, which now stands at eight. Smith scored off a double-assist from juniors Brandi Brock (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Lizzie Matchett (Liberty Township, Ohio), which gave HC a 2-0 advantage at the intermission.

The Panthers outshot the Ravens (6-4-4, 3-2-2 HCAC) 12-0 in the first half and 17-3 for the entire match. Hanover also enjoyed an 8-2 edge on goal.

Brock, who led the team with four shot attempts, two on goal, was the lone player for either side to find the back of the net in the second half. The junior scored unassisted in the 64th minute, putting HC in front 3-0.

Defensively, freshman Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) was needed for one save in her 80-plus minutes of action, as she has now been a part of all nine team shutouts this fall. Carmosino has seven solo clean sheets in 15 appearances.

Finishing the game in goal was sophomore Katie Perry (Indianapolis, Ind.), who preserved the shutout with a save in the 89th minute.

Hanover, who now has five straight clean sheets, will conclude regular season play next week with two matches. The Panthers open the stretch on the road against the other HCAC unbeaten, Mt. St. Joseph, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24.
