INDIANAPOLIS – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its final player of the week recipients for the women's soccer season Tuesday afternoon with Hanover's Brandi Brock (Cincinnati, Ohio) picking up offensive honors.
Brock played a vital role in the Panthers' fifth HCAC regular season championship in six years, as HC picked up wins over Mt. St. Joseph and Defiance last week. The junior tallied two goals and one assist over the two-match stretch.
Against MSJ, with the score tied at 1-1 in double overtime, Brock calmly netted a penalty kick to secure the match and the regular season conference title. In the regular season finale, the junior added one goal and one assist, as HC defeated Defiance 6-0.
After her five-point week, Brock finished the regular season third in the HCAC with 17 points in league play. Overall, Brock is now tied for the team-lead in goals, eight, while also pacing the Panthers in assists, seven, and total points, 23.
Hanover's two wins capped a 16-1-0 regular season mark, including a perfect 9-0-0 record in HCAC play. The Blue and Red also take a program-best, 16-match winning streak into the HCAC Tournament this week.
The No. 14 Panthers host Anderson in the HCAC Tournament semifinals, beginning at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 30.
