The Panthers (1-2-0 overall) finished the afternoon with a game-high 20 shots, eight of which were on frame. Sophomore Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) picked up the win in net for the Blue and Red as she tallied five saves to improve to 1-2-0 overall on the year.
Millikin struck first in the contest as the Big Blue played a cross inside the 18 yard box that beat the Panther keeper for the early 1-0 score. The Blue and Red looked to find the equalizer late in the opening half as sophomore Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) hit a shot that was saved by the Millikin goalie. Rolfsen fired off one last shot as time expired in the first half that went wide right, leaving Millikin with the 1-0 advantage.
The Panthers would finally crack the defense early in the second half as senior Abby Howes (Terre haute, Ind.) connected with sophomore Ruby Kate Gray (Lexington, Ky.) who found Boothby in the 18 yard box for the score, 1-1.
Hanover continued to pelt the net with shots as sophomore Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.), Dattlio and Gray all footed balls that just missed the Millikin goal. Dattilo would provide the game-winner in the 76th minute as sophomore Anna Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio) played a through ball that beat the Big Blue defensmen and propeled the Blue and Red to victory.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday, September 8 as they travel to Sewanee. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
