HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's soccer team welcomes Wittenberg to campus for a non-conference matchup. The Panthers enter the contest 2-2 overall after defeating Sewanee, 1-0.
HCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sophomore Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week following the teams 2-0 overall record. The goalkeeper helped guide the Panthers to their first clean sheet of the season as she tallied 12 saves. Carmosino posted a .923 save percentage and currently ranks fourth in saves and fifth in goals against average among the league.
WEEKEND REWIND: The Blue and Red posted a 2-0 overall week as they defeated Millikin in their home-opener 2-1 before traveling to Sewanee for the 1-0 victory. In the contest with the Tigers, senior Brandi Brock (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the attack as she netted the golden goal for the Panthers in the 25th minute of action. Carmosino registered the win in frame with 90 minutes of work and eight saves.
SCOUTING WITTENBERG: The Tigers enter the matchup 2-2 overall after dropping a 2-1 contest with Centre. Wittenberg is led this season by Brooke Peters with two goals and four points. Kelly Corbin leads the Tigers in net with a .833 save percentage and .800 goals against average.
UP NEXT: The Panthers return to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 18 as they play host to Spalding. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 P.M.
