INDIANAPOLIS – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference handed out its first weekly awards for the 2018-19 swimming & diving season Monday, with Hanover freshman Nora Miodrag (Louisville, Ky.) picking up the women's swimming honor.
In the women's swim program's first ever meet, Miodrag paced the Panthers with a quartet of top four finishes at the Indiana Division III Championships. Highlighting her day, Miodrag won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:36.76, which was the first individual victory for the program.
Additionally, the first-year athlete added a fourth place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:12.47. Miodrag also appeared on a pair of relay teams, the 200-yard medley and the 400-yard freestyle, with times of 1:59.45 and 3:59.07, respectively.
All four races Miodrag was a participant in, she placed either first or second among HCAC individuals or teams.
As a team, Hanover recorded 205.5 points at the Indiana Division III Championships, hosted by Wabash, good enough for a fifth place finish.
The Panther women will be back in action again this Friday, Oct. 26, as they host Rose-Hulman in a dual meet. Action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. inside nearby Southwestern High School.
