Panthers swim past Manchester in 109-18 home win

HANOVER, Ind. – For the second time this season, the Hanover women's swimming team earned a home victory over a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe, this time a 109-18 decision against Manchester.

The Panthers, who were celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, won seven of the eight individual events, while also earning the top spot on both mixed-gender relay races. Torri Boldery (Crothersville, Ind.), Audrey Masterson (Louisville, Ky.), Olivia Ramsey (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Bekah Wilhoit (Dayton, Ohio) were honored as the women's program's first senior class during the meet.

Boldery and Wilhoit teamed together on a 200-yard medley relay group, with the former also competing in the 100- and 200-yard freestyles. Masterson entered the 50- and 200-yard freestyle races, while Ramsey appeared in the 50 free.

Highlighting the winning performance were sophomores Liv Loran (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Meagan Miles (Nabb, Ind.), who each went a perfect three-for-three in first place finishes. Loran won two individual events, the 50 free (26.14) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.90), while also competing on the top 200-yard medley relay team that finished in 1:51.48.

Miles added two individual victories as well, started off by the 1000-yard freestyle, which she logged a time of 12:11.13. Later the sophomore added a time of 2:31.26 in the 200-yard individual medley, while also being a member of the 200 free relay team that finished in 1:42.45.

Freshman Sydney Ruggles (Westfield, Ind.) was also on the winning 200 medley relay squad. Ruggles earned a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly as well, clocking in at 1:08.68. Classmate Sydney Schulok (Cincinnati, Ohio) bested the three-person field in the 100 backstroke (1:07.45), while also competing on the top 200 free relay team. Both Ruggles and Schulok added top three finishes in the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle, respectively.

Picking up a win in the 200-yard freestyle was freshman Hailee Holberton (New Palestine, Ind.). Holberton logged a time of 2:19.36 in her winning swim, while also placing second in the 100 breaststroke at 1:17.32.

The duo of junior Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.) and sophomore Kaleight Grayson (Charlestown, Ind.) combined for five second place finishes to help round out the team scoring.

The Panthers will look to ride the momentum into their meet next weekend, which will take place at NCAA Division II institution, Urbana (Ohio), at 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12.
