Team Effort Leads Panthers at Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Panthers opened Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday with a trip to Franklin where the Blue and Red fell, 201-45.

Sophomore Nora Miodrag (Louisville, Ky.) continued to have success in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event with a time of 1:14.64. The sophomore won the event by almost six seconds.

In the 200-yard medley relay the team of freshman Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky.), Miodrag, freshman Maddie Difillippo (Cincinnati, Ohio), and freshman Lindsey Hoskins (Columbia City, Ind.) claimed second overall with a time of 1:59.77.

DiFillippo claimed a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:25.45.

Taking third in the 50-yard freestyle, freshman Kelli Brock (Mooresville, Ind.) finished the race in 26.87 followed by teammate Ilys in fourth place.

Brock also competed in the 100-yard freestyle finishing in 59.47 for third place.

In the 1,000-yard freestyle senior Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.) took fourth with a time of 12:26.36.

Hanover rounded out the meet with the 200-yard freestyle relay that saw Ilys, Brock, junior Meagan Miles (Nabb, Ind.), and Brandt for a second-place finish with a time of 1:49.27.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 when they welcome Lindsey Wilson to Southwestern High School. Match time is set for 1 PM.
