HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover women's swim team will travel south to Lexington, Ky. where they will be competing alongside Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Transylvania, as well as regional opponents Milligan College and Wittenberg University.
INVITATIONAL DETAILS: The 2019 Transylvania Invitational this weekend will be held at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky, Saturday and Sunday, December 7-8. Saturday's preliminary session begins at 11:30 AM followed by the final session at 5:15 PM. Sunday's Day Two action begins at 10:00 AM with the finals beginning at 5:00 PM.
BREAKING RECORDS: The Blue and Red enter the weekend with a lot of momentum after tallying a strong performance against Lindsey Wilson including a school record in the 100-yard IM. Junior Liv Loran (Fort Wayne, Ind.) set the school record in the event with a time of 1:07.13. The 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky.) Loran, freshman Kelli Brock (Mooresville, Ind.) and senior Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.) also found success in the pool winning the event with a time of 1:56.25, three seconds off the school record. The relay also swam the fastest non tapered time by any Panther relay dating back two seasons.
MIDWAY POINT: The two-day invitational serves as the midway point of the season for the Panthers before making their annual winter trip. This year's trip will take place in Clermont, Fla. from Dec. 28 – Jan. 4.
