Panthers Compete with Transylvania in Home Dual

HANOVER, Ind. - The Panthers welcomed Transylvania in a home dual Friday evening at Southwestern High School falling to the Pioneers, 149-66.

Freshman Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky.) led the Blue and Red in the dual meet taking first in 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.28. She also took second in the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall with a time of 26.47.

Freshman Lindsey Hoskins (Columbia City, Ind.) claimed a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.68, while teammate freshman Maddie Difilippo (Cincinnati, Ohio) took the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.61.

The team of senior Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.), Hoskins, freshman Emelia Currin (New Albany, Ind.), and junior Meagan Miles (Nabb, Ind.) claimed a second place mark in the 200-yard freestyle race with a finishing time of 1:53.74.

In the 200-yard IM, Miles took third in a time of 2:34.48. Freshman Megan Quinn (Richmond, Ind.) also tallied a third palce mark with a time of 1:01.31 followed by Hoskins touching the wall with a time of 1:02.06.

The success carried over to the 100-yard breatstroke where freshman Liz Bolinger (Kendallville, Ind.) finished third with a mark of 1:19.75.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, February 1 as they welcome Rose-Hulman. The dual is set to start at 1 P.M.
