TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Hanover women's swimming team wrapped up the 2020 season with a fourth place finish as part of the three-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Rose-Hulman. The Panthers tallied 273 points in the event.
Franklin repeated as HCAC champions with 832.5 points, while Transylvania took second with 405 points and Anderson third with 356.5 points.
Hanover was led on the afternoon by freshman Maddie Difilippo (Cincinnati, Ohio) garnering all-conference honors in the 200-yard butterly with a second place mark and a time of 2:16.33. The freshman beat her prelim time of 2:19.79.
Freshman Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky.) teamed up with senior Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.), sophomore Kelli Brock (Mooresville, Ind.), and sophomore Sydney Schulok (Cincinnati, Ohio) to take fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:46.37.
In the 100-yard freestlye, Anderson took fifth overall in a time of 55.33 followed by Schulok in sixth place with a time of 55.73.
Freshman Megan Quinn (Richmond, Ind.) took seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:19.05, while teammate Brandt finished 10th overall in the 200-yard backstroke touching the wall in 2:26.09.
Taking eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke, freshman Liz Bolinger (Kendalville, Ind.) swimming the race in a time of 2:46.02.
The 2020 HCAC Chanpionships concluded the season for the Panthers.
