HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's tennis team closes out its regular season schedule at noon, Saturday, March 17, with a trip to Wittenberg (Ohio).
The Panthers and Tigers will meet at Schroeder Tennis Center in Tipp City, Ohio, close to 30 minutes west of Wittenberg's campus.
NEARING PROGRAM WIN RECORD: Hanover currently has a 14-5 overall record, putting them two wins away from tying the program record for most victories in a single season, which was set last year. The Blue and Red have won double-digit matches in each of the last five years, accumulating a 72-24 (.750) mark during the stretch.
DOMINATING DOUBLES: The Panthers have had a pair of doubles team this season post double-digit victories. Despite their 13-game winning streak coming to an end last time out, junior Susie Winternheimer (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Meghan Farrell (Indianapolis, Ind.) have produced a 16-3 mark in doubles play this season. Winternheimer and Farrell are a perfect 10-0 in the No. 3 slot and have combined for 15 singles victoires as well.
Matching Hanover's overall record is sophomore Cami Jones (Richmond, Ind.) and freshman Haley Parker (Leo, Ind.). The tandem had won 10 in a row prior to a three-game setback this spring. Jones and Parker though, have bounced back to win three of their last four outings together.
As a team, HC has produced a 39-18 record in doubles action, a .684 winning percentage.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS: Wittenberg has produced a 3-1 record this season, including a 1-1 mark this spring. The Tigers will be competing for the first time in one month Saturday, as they lost to St. Mary's (Ind.), 6-3, and defeated St. Francis (Ind.), 7-2, on Feb. 17.
