HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's tennis team continues its preparations for the NCAA Division III National Tournament with a home exhibition match against NCAA Division I Butler (Ind.) this weekend.

SETTING THE SCENE: The Panthers (12-4) and Bulldogs, originally scheduled for a 10 a.m. start, will now begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16. The contest will be HC's first against an opposing school in over two weeks, as the first three scheduled matches of March have been cancelled/postponed due to weather.

SPRING REVIEW: A challenging spring slate has the Panthers with a 0-4 mark since the turn of the calendar to 2019. Hanover has faced a nationally-ranked Sewanee (Tenn.) as well as Division II Davenport (Mich.). The Panthers also suffered losses to Augustana (Ill.) and Saint Mary's (Minn.) during the team's annual Winter Break trip to Florida.

PANTHER NOTES:

  • Hanover won its sixth straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship back in the fall, running its current HCAC winning streak to 48 consecutive matches. The combination of Gaston and Katzenberger are 8-2 this season, while Jones and sophomore Haley Parker (Leo, Ind.) are 8-4 when paired together.
  • The Panthers also have a singles winning percentage above .700, taking 64 of 89 matches.
